We walk mainly in the Auvergne, Camargue, Cevennes, Languedoc and Provence regions – yes, the sunny parts. Well, who really enjoys walking in the rain? And if you have the choice, which do you prefer to walk under – clear blue skies or grey mist?
 
At The Enlightened Traveller, we believe walking should give you a physical workout and a mental and spiritual ‘buzz.’ It is a source of active learning, recreation and regeneration and we aim to help you find that all important walk-life balance.
 
We believe there is no better place to hike than in France. We understand the needs of enlightened travellers and are here to help, whilst you benefit from our local knowledge, experience and expertise.

We are a family-run business, with family ties in Le Midi dating back to the 1930s.  We treat you, our enlightened customer, as an honoured guest, not a statistic. This personalised approach pervades everything that we do. We are fortunate enough to see southern France at its best - we want you to as well.

We are an Anglo-French operation - a British company with a French family-base and network throughout southern France. You benefit from this unrivaled local presence. We are well-travelled and experienced in the travel business, and qualified in both business and hiking. This gives us a competency in which you can have complete confidence.

We live a healthy lifestyle and encourage others to do the same and reap the benefits. Our approach is holistic and focused, not global. We live and work in one part of the world that we know and care for. Our Enlightenment owes nothing to religion, everything to human understanding resulting from traveling worldwide and enjoying what’s authentic and different.

All of our hiking tours comprise emergency phone support. You have a 24-hour-a day hotline to the Operations’ Director and feedback is actively gathered in order that we can continually improve what we do fro the benefit of future customers.
