This is a walking tour in France that you simply have to put in your ‘must list’ - Best of walking Auvergne. Quite simply, a superb opportunity to enjoy the best of hiking the Cantal volcano with some complementary and convivial accommodation.

Best of walking Auvergne takes you to the Cantal volcano, Europe’s largest, measuring more than 40 miles across. At its height, it would have reached about 9000 feet. Subsequent glacial erosion has created a panoramic upland area, with its peaks (or puys as they are known locally) ranging from 4000 to 6000 feet. If you like hiking trips in France, then this is a hikers’ paradise of enchanting summits, upland moors and U-shaped valleys.

This is a walking tour in France which takes you across unspoiled countryside – no pylons or overhead power cables are to be seen. You hike the essential heights, whilst our meticulous planning enables you personalise two of the three days hiking to suit your requirements.
